When I first found Chesterfield Gorge, It was blazing hot. I stepped down onto a small rocky point that seemed well shaded, and looked down the gorge. It was one of those hazy summer days, where the atmospheric perspective was turning the bright yellows and greens of new leaves into beautiful subtle purples and teals. The strength of those warm-cool contrasts made an ideal contrast for the green brown of the river, with just a hint of sky reflecting through.
